For more than a decade Nathan Stein has created, directed, shot, edited, and produced videos that have spanned the gamut from fund raising tribute reels to sales promotionals to live performance packaging for DVD distribution. He has served many artists and organizations, including his own; spanning humanitarian profiles, outreach instruments, artist profiles & demos, as well as live, high-impact spectacle. Mr. Stein can, and has directed all technical and creative aspects of the process, and eagerly coordinates with those in the areas of the project he is not directing.
Nate's enthusiasm for creating video was sparked while spending evenings editing his own demo reel with his brother at Laser Pacific (Now Kodak) while the R&D team was creating The Spectra System; the first Hollywood disc-based non-linear editing system. These systems edited and "onlined" shows such as Quantum Leap, Designing Women, Cheers, and Murphy Brown. Since then he has been active in the digital revolution; first by videotape, then by DVD, and now also with flash, shockwave, and many facets of the rich graphic experience that is mainstream on every browser today.
Mr. Stein's training spans comprehensive photography & theatrical pre & post-production, including lighting & sound design, talent direction & extensive performance. He served as photo assistant for the Steven Arnold Studios lighting and handling the technical aspects of the sessions for many album and magazine spreads. He has also served as both sound and light designer for many theatrical productions.
Nathan has a juggler’s sense of timing; because he is one. He co-founded The Mums, a magic, juggling, and spectacle group that recently celebrated it’s 30th anniversary at The Magic Castle.
